What’s Doing?
Everyone is welcome to join in a special Christmas simulcast specifically geared to elementary school-aged children and their parents. Join Cypress Meadows Community Church in Studio 4:12 with VeggieTales and What’s in the Bible? creator Phil Vischer as he debuts his brand new Christmas special: Why Do We Call It Christmas? Children and their families will learn all about why we celebrate Christmas the way we do – with Christmas trees and Santa Claus — and why it’s on December 25!

All Children’s Hospital, Kohl’s Cooks for Kids, St. Pete Fire and Rescue-Fossil Park Station, and Radio Disney are stirring up some fun and challenging families to come out and show-off their culinary skills at this fun and tasty event. But you don’t have to to complete in the cook-off to have a great time at this event! Families who don’t want to compete are encouraged to come and sample the tasty entries. The event will also include:

Do You Have a Winning Recipe?
To be selected to participate in the chili cook-off, families will need to submit a healthy recipe to our nutrition and culinary experts by October 8, 2011. Chili recipe categories include:

— Fowl Bowl (Chicken Chili)

Bring the kids out to learn about fire safety. Children will experience what it’s like to be a firefighter, putting out simulated house fires with water hoses. They’ll save a barn from burning down and learn how to safely escape a smoke-filled room. Scheduled events include:

— TECO Power City exhibit
— Firefighters will set simulated residences on fire at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. to demonstrate the effectiveness and importance of sprinklers in a residential setting.
