2011 Bay Area Trunk-or-Treat Events

PUBLISHER’S NOTE: WE HAVE UPDATED THIS LISTING WITH NEW, UPDATED INFORMATION AND NEW EVENTS!

Trunk decorated for Trunk-or-TreatIt’s time for a family meeting because Trunk-or-Treat events are coming up, and you need to get those trunk decorated! At Our Lady of the Rosary’s annual Trunk-or-Treat, it’s tradition to decorate your trunk and fill it with fun treats for the children. And Spirit of Grace Lutheran Church has advertised a contest for the best decorated trunk. Will it be yours?

For Bell Shoals Baptist Church’s Trunk-or-Treat, they offer a link for you to register your car if you wish to participate with your decorated car trunk. For most of the other Trunk-or-Treat events, however, only volunteer members of the host Church will be participating with their cars. In these cases, members decorate their trunks for the event and hand out candy to trick-or-treaters. As a guest, all you have to do is enjoy the event!

** For more detail on how any of these Trunk-or-Treat events are being handled, and whether or not you can (or should) participate with your decorated trunk, we strongly advise contacting the event host directly to avoid any unpleasant surprises or disappointments the night of the event! **

By the way, if you do decorate your trunk, we’d all love to see what you all come up with. Snap a quick photo of your tricked-out trunk and post it on our Facebook wall!

Below is a list of Trunk-or-Treat events we’ve located. If you know of others happening in the Bay area, please drop us a comment and let us know about it.

What’s Doing?
Decorate the trunk, don your best costumes, and make it a family night at Our Lady of the Rosary’s annual Truck-or-Treat event. For this trunk-or-treat you are encouraged to decorate your trunk! But if you’re not up for decorating this year, just plant a comfy chair out behind your car. Although you can come to this trunk-or-treat and opt not to pass out candy, it is in good faith that you do. As far as negotiating the logistics of passing out candy and staying with your children while they trick-or-treat, you can opt to go with a group and designate someone to stay at the cars to hand out the treats, or you can trunk-or-treat for a while and then pass out candy (or the other way around).

Address:
Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church
2348 Collier Parkway

Event Disclaimer: The Halloween events we post as “Non-Scary Halloween Events” are not INTENDED to be scary so that small children can enjoy them, too. However, there are many aspects of the Halloween celebration — costumes, masks, carved pumpkins, scarecrows, witches, etc. — that a child may personally find to be frightening. Please use your discretion when deciding to attend a Non-scary Halloween Event with your little one. Nobody knows your child better than you!
