What’s Doing?
For the last Saturday at the Market of Spring 2011, Cheeky Monkeys Books & Toys is planning to end the season with a bang. They will have music from You and Me & Music Together and the Noisemakers (Rock School for Kids). There will also be a yarn spinner, and guests can help paint swings as part of a project called “Swings Tampa Bay.”

What is Swings Tampa Bay?
Swings Tampa Bay is the winner of Creative Loafing and Creative Tampa Bay’s 10-100-1000 Challenge. The challenge was for entrants to submit creative ideas for how they could help make Tampa Bay a better place to live. The 10 most creative ideas sumbitted within the 100 days specified for the Challenge, with the prize being $1000 to help the winner turn their idea into a reality.

Painted Swings at the Market
The project leaders of Swings Tampa Bay will have a booth at the Market on May 28 from 8 a.m.-2 p.m. with swings for the community to paint and decorate. The swings will then be hung around Tampa Bay. Highlights of what will be happening at the Swings Tampa Bay booth include:
- Anyone can paint a swing, for FREE
- Swing on swings around the market
- They will be selling painted swings for donations
- Guests are welcome to donate and take their own swing home
- Guests can learn the swings are hung

A couple swings will be at the Cheeky Monkeys booth for kids to decorate there, as well, while enjoying music and stories.
