— 2 p.m.: Upstairs/Downstairs at the Tampa Bay Hotel with Maggie Stroud, Laundress, 1920.

Upstairs/Downstairs
Upstairs/Downstairs at the Henry B. Plant Museum allows guests to step back in time and enjoy a living history vignette that brings turn-of-the-century Tampa Bay Hotel staff and guests to life. Based on original research conducted by the Museum, the characters are based wholly or in part on actual Hotel staff and guests.

This weekend, the 30-minute live theater performance will unveil Maggie Stroud, a lively and ambitious woman who has a story or two to tell about famous guests at the Tampa Bay Hotel including her favorite, Sarah Bernhardt. As a personal maid, Maggie has seen some of the finer things in life.

Upcoming Performances:
— April 22: Henry Dobson
— April 29: Otis Freedman
— May 6: Arthur Schleman
— May 13: Edith Roosevelt (Mother’s Day)
— May 20: Theodore Roosevelt
— May 27: Henry Dobson

About the Museum
The Henry B. Plant Museum interprets the turn-of-the-century Tampa Bay Hotel and the lifestyles of America’s Gilded Age. Critical to the success of this mission is the restoration and preservation of this National Historic Landmark, an opulent 1891 railroad resort, and the artifacts significant to its history, and the life and work of Henry Bradley Plant.
