FREE Seeds Inside Specially Marked Packages of Dannon® Dan-o-nino

Planting
PUBLISHER’S NOTE: We just tried this today with our playgroup, so we are waiting to see if the seeds actually grow. We did, however, run into a couple problems using this with a group:
1) The seeds are embedded into a small square of cardboard, and the package says to soak the seeds in water for 2-4 hours before planting. Since we open the package out in the park, we did not have an opportunity to soak them for very long.
2) There is only one square of cardboard with seeds, so there are not seeds for all the kids to plant into all 6 of the yogurt cups. For all the kids to be able to plant, you will need to bring along a packet of seeds in addition to what is provided with the yogurt. We divided the seed cardboard into 3 pieces, so it remains to be seen whether any of the cups we planted will actually sprout a plant.

Danonino Seed CupWhat’s the Deal?
Yogurt helps kids grow, and now it comes with FREE seeds to make plants grow, too. Pick up specially marked packages of Dannon® Dan-o-nino yogurt, and after your kids enjoy a tasty, packed-with-calcium* yogurt snack, they can plant the seeds in the cups.

Grow a Virtual Tree and American Forests Will Plant a REAL Tree!
When you enter the special code (found under the label) at danonino.us.com, your kids can also plant and care for a virtual tree that will grow bigger every time they come back to the site. Once the virtual tree is fully grown, AMERICAN FORESTS will plant a real live tree! (Note: The code must be entered on danonino.us.com before 8/1/11 to plant a virtual tree. There is a maximum donation of 300,000 trees with a guaranteed minimum of 30,000.)

* Did you know? Honestly, I didn’t. But apparently Dannon® Dan-o-nino contains 10% more of the Daily Value of calcium than leading kids’ yogurts. (Danonino: 155mg (20% DV) of calcium, Leading Kids’ Yogurt: 70mg (8% DV) of calcium per 1.76 oz.)
