Bring family and friends and help Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful at this year’s International Coastal Cleanup (ICC). The international event focuses efforts on the waterways and coastal areas in Tampa Bay … and across the world!

Volunteers have the opportunity to record data on litter collected at local sites in the Hillsborough County area. Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful reports the data collected here in Tampa Bay to the Ocean Conservancy, who compiles and analyzes the data yearly, and publishes the world’s only item-by-item, location-by-location snapshot of marine debris. For example: did you know that last year cigarette butts were the most littered item in the world! This detailed information tracks the sources of litter and is presented to local, national and world leaders in order to make informed policy decisions.

This event is an excellent opportunity for families with older children to spend quality time together outdoors, while helping to improve our community. And in return for your time, volunteers receive either a T-shirt or tote bag (your choice; while supplies last). You will have the opportunity to choose the shirt or bag on your Registration Form.

What To Bring:
— Work gloves
— Sunscreen
— Hat
— Sunglasses
— Protective footwear (close-toed)
— Insect repellant
— Water

How to Register: To volunteer, download and complete the Registration Form and e-mail (dpacker@keeptbb.org) or fax (813-221-0222) it to Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful by September 9, 2011. Registration Forms can also be returned to: Keep Tampa Bay Beautiful, Inc., P.O. Box 2104, Tampa, FL 33601.
