What’s Doing?

Sing, dance and play with Boca Beth and her mascot BOCA in her FAREWELL CONCERT — a bilingual stage performance that promotes learning Spanish and English in a fun way. Every child receives a bilingual coloring/activity book, and there sill be photo opportunities with BOCA the language amigo and mascot, so remember to bring your cameras and your sonrisas (smiles). You will even have a chance to win some of the $300 in prizes.

Who is Boca Beth?
Boca Beth is known for making it fun and easy to give your kids a jump start on learning both Spanish and English. Delight as young children join in on the second language journey she creates with music & movement, high energy FUN. She also has her own line of bilingual programs and products.

What’s Doing?
Zip down a 3-story speed slide, spin down the 214-foot corkscrew slide, and splash in pools and under water fountains. As the sun sets, the disco lights, black lights and strobe lights will illuminate the night while a DJ spins tunes. This party is open to all ages, and the first 100 guests will receive a FREE Glo-Necklace. There will be hot dogs and Chick-fil-A sandwiches, door prize giveaways, and planned activities throughout the night.

Here’s a Breakdown of the June Promotions:
Kids Night —
Kids eat FREE! Kids 14 and younger receive a coupon for a FREE hot dog, ice cream, and soda with the purchase of a reserved ticket ($5).
Blue’s Crew Kids Club Night — Free admission to the game for Blue’s Crew Members (children ages 14 and younger) with club card*. Members can run the bases from 6-6:15 p.m.
Thirsty Thursday — $1 soda, $1 ice cold draft, $2 bottles from 6-8 p.m.
Facebook Friday — $2 admission for Facebook Friends. $1 soda, $1 ice cold draft, $2 bottles and all-you-can-eat chicken wings for $10 from 6-8 p.m.
Bark at the Ballpark — Bring your K-9 friend to the game. Fans will enjoy a pre-game dog fair with local vendors from the Tampa area. Gates open at 4:30 p.m. All dog ticket proceeds benefit the Humane Society of Tampa Bay. Sponsored by Fuzzie Buddies and The New Barker magazine.
Friends and Family Night — You receive 4 reserved tickets, 4 hot dogs, 4 chips, 4 sodas, 4 grey Tampa Yankees caps, and 1 pass to Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo for only $38. Kids have the opportunity to run the bases before the game from 5-5:15 p.m. Player will sign autographs on the concourse from 5:10-5:30 p.m.

What’s Doing?
Celebrate the start of summer with friends and family at Southwest Pool’s Summer Kickoff Event. Enjoy access to the pool, along with floats, inner tubes and diving boards for recreational use. The event includes door prize giveaways, a hot dog lunch and bottled water, and spin the prize wheel for great gifts from their sponsors. Discover Scuba will be on site offering underwater exploration demonstrations, and The Art of Touch will provide free massages. Special summer pool passes will be available for purchase. All ages are welcome to attend this kickoff event. Event sponsors include Pinch-a-Penny, Sunshine Scuba, Chick-Fil-A Largo, The Art of Touch and Regal Entertainment Group.

Canopy Tree Climbs

What’s Doing?
Tree climbing with Pathfinder is a great way to enjoy some time outside with family and friends. Ascend into the heights of a live oak with a rope and pulley system similar to what explorers use in the rain forests.

Note: Climbers must be at least 6 years old. Each climber must complete a liability release form. Visit the website to download a liability release, and to get more FAQs. Climbers under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian’s signature. Also, hard rain and/or lightening will cancel the climb.

Hot Peppers
What’s Doing?
Do you have hot pepper lovers in your family? If so, then this is the event for you! There will be plenty of hot and spicy foods, sauces and salsas to sample and purchase. There will also be live music, family fun, kids activities, pepper plants for sale, pepper-related items, crafts, BBQ, a Jalapeño Pepper Eating Contest, and a Spicy Lick-a-thon.

- Jalapeño Pepper Eating Contest will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday. If you want to participate in this event, be sure to sign up before 1 p.m.! It is my understanding that participants must be 18 years or older, or there must be parental consent to participate in this event, but you will want to verify the age requirements with the event hosts.

- Spicy Lick-a-Thon will take place at 1 p.m. on Sunday, so again, be sure to sign up before then if you intend to participate in this event. For the Lick-a-thon, I believe you must be 18 years or older to participate, but you will want to verify the age requirement with the event hosts.
