What’s Doing?
The Festival of Chocolate is Florida’s largest all-chocolate themed event, featuring the area’s best chocolate and confection companies selling tastes and treats of everything chocolate. Chocolate savory items — including chocolate bbq sauce and meat rubs — will also debut this year.

Kids-4-Chocolate is the place for children to create edible masterpieces, test their choc-ology on the Chocolate Game Show Stage, make gooey chocolate playdough, and much, much more. Cocoa Couture
Feast your eyes on the “Cocoa Couture” Fashion Show on the Festival of Chocolate “Yum-Way” at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 14. Models will present handmade chocolate fashions such as a Reeses Cup Cocktail Dress and a Dove Chocolate Chandelier Dress!

What’s Doing?
Are you excited about the circus coming to town! Celebrate their arrival when Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® clowns visit Glazer Children’s Museum. Kids are invited to participate in activities and watch the clowns perform. Performances take place at 10:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. with special activities between performances.

This event promotes Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Presents Dragons, which will take place at the St. Pete Times Forum January 4-8, 2011. Find out more at ringling.com.

Paint Like an Elephant

Elephant paintingTime: Painting begins at 10:30 a.m. with the arrival of the elephant at Curtis Hixon Park. Children and their families can start lining up at the Museum at 8:30 a.m. that morning for a chance to be one of the lucky 50. (NOTE: Although the Glazer Children’s Museum website specifies that you can line up beginning at 8:30 a.m., TampaBay.com has published 8 a.m. as the earliest time to line up, which could cause a problem for those who wait until 8:30 a.m. to arrive at the park.)

What’s Doing?
50 kids will have the unique opportunity to paint alongside a Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey® elephant in the park in front of the Glazer Children’s Museum. Painting will last 30 minutes, and even if your child does’t get chosen to paint, this should be fun to watch!
