Need some help deciding if your event belongs on What’s Doing?
The Types of Events We Look For and Post for FREE:
Please understand that we ONLY post events that are family-friendly and kid-friendly. There are many event listings for the Bay area; what makes us unique is that we only list those events that we, as parents, would want to enjoy with our children.
— Events that offer something to interest kids (Wanting families to participate is not enough for an event to get listed on What’s Doing? If our kids aren’t having fun, neither are we!)
— Events that are FREE or very affordable for an average family with 4 children
— Public events that anyone in the community is welcome to attend
— Parent-focused events that are FREE or very inexpensive and aim to help parents to be better parents
Events We Don’t Post, But You Are Welcome to Advertise:
There are some types of events we do not, as a rule, post on the site. If you are hosting this type of event and would like to reach our readership, we welcome you to place an ad or pay for a sponsored post. Advertising on this blog is an inexpensive way to reach thousands of parents daily!
— Kids Camps/VBS
— Events we feel are cost prohibitive for an average family of four
— Classes that charge a fee
— Discounts and sales on your product/service/class/camp
— Parent’s Night Out events and similar drop-off events
Events We Will Decline:
— Events where much of the activity takes place in a bar or pub, even if they are intended to be family-friendly
— Beer/wine/cocktail events, even if they offer kids activities
— Events that do not appear to offer any sort of activity that might entertain our kids
Of course, rules are made to be broken sometimes! So if you aren’t sure if an event belongs here on What’s Doing? Tampa Bay, go ahead and send it anyway. We’ll let you know.
