What’s Doing?
Stake our your viewing spot for this year’s Holiday Parade, which steps off at 4 p.m. with festive floats, bands and entertainers, and finally … Santa Claus! Afterward, families can enjoy an old fashioned Christmas with live music and performances, carriage rides, children’s activities and — best of all — snow!


Santa’s Calling
Dunedin residents can schedule to have Santa Claus or Mrs. Claus call your child (age 7 or younger) between 5:30-8:30 p.m. on the evening of Thursday, December 13. This will be the North Pole calling with a direct line and personal call to your child from either Santa or Mrs. Claus. Forms must be received by Wednesday, December 12 and can be picked up at the Dunedin Library or the Dunedin Community Center. For more information, please call (727) 812-4530.

What’s Doing?
The season begins on Saturday, December 1 in Safety Harbor, FL with a Holiday Bargain Bazaar at the Community Center (10 a.m.-3 p.m.). All items are priced below $25, so start checking off that holiday gifts list!

Christmas Tree Lighting
Head over to John Wilson Park (Gazebo) on Friday, December 7 (6 p.m.) to watch as the city’s official Christmas tree is lit. As the song goes, there will be holiday songs sung by a choir … or in this case, several local choirs. Santa Claus will also visit with children to hear their Christmas wishes.

Snow Fest
On Saturday, December 8, families can enjoy snow ramp, giant inflatables, live music, carnival games, and hot chocolate at Safety Harbor City Park for the city’s annual Snow Fest from 4-9 p.m. Admission is $2/person, and wristbands can be purchased for $7, giving you unlimited access to all games and rides.

Safety Harbor Holiday Parade
The city’s annual Holiday Parade steps off at 1 p.m. on Saturday, December 15 on Main Street. Currently in it’s 95th year, this parade features floats, classic cars, Shriners and Santa Claus.

Santa Fire Truck Visits
Santa will be visiting Safety Harbor residents in his fire truck again this year (December 14 & 15). Residents north of Enterprise Road can expect to see Santa on December 14, while residents south of Enterprise Road can look for him on December 15. He will be travelling through these neighborhoods between 5:30-10 p.m. For more information, contact the Fire Department at (727) 724-1573. (NOTE: If it rains, Santa will visit on Sunday instead.)

Chick-fil-A Waters Ave. Holiday Light DisplayOur Tampa Bay area Chick-fil-A restaurants plan many fun family events throughout the year and especially at Christmas time. Click here for a list of Tampa Bay area Chick-fil-A Christmas events.

There is, however, one particular Bay area Chick-fil-A restaurant — Chick-fil-A Waters Ave. — that kicks Christmas up yet another notch with their impressive annual light display, snow and entertainment for local families to enjoy! We never cease to be impressed by their warmth and enthusiasm, and we want to share with you all that they have planned so you can enjoy it as well.

Experience Holiday Magic at Chick-fil-A Waters Ave.

With the exception of their Breakfast with Santa, which is a ticketed event, these family holiday activities are FREE … you pay only for your food.

Photos with Santa
Santa comes out and sits under their big tree to visit and take photos with children and families every Friday night until Christmas. Photos are $6, and families are welcome to bring their own cameras. The restaurant staff also set up a snack table with cookies and hot cocoa.

Holiday Light Display
The lights are on every night (except for Sunday nights, when the restaurant is closed) after dark and snow comes on every 30 minutes, so stop by and enjoy a feast for the senses.

Live Nightly Entertainment
Also to be enjoyed nightly are the concerts performed by various schools and organizations, of which a portion of the proceeds goes back to their school or organization. There is even a tribute to the king of rock-and-roll at 7 p.m. on Saturday, December 15 when Elvis tribute artist Michael Rocca performs.

Snack with Santa
Every Friday night beginning Friday, November 30, 2012 through Friday, December 21, 2012 bring the kids by for a Snack with Santa between 6-10 p.m.

Family Holiday Movies
This year guests will be treated to two family movie nights. Enjoy FREE showings of Arthur Christmas on and Polar Express outside on a big inflatable screen, as well as FREE popcorn and special surprises and gifts throughout the movie. Here’s the schedule:

Breakfast with Santa
Breakfast with Santa is a ticketed event. Tickets are on sale for $8/per child and can be purchased in the restaurant. please be aware that tickets go fast; one time slot is already full! The ticket price includes a child’s breakfast, Christmas craft, and photo with Santa. Tickets are not required for parents, and parents need only pay for their breakfast.

St. Petersburg’s 2012 Santa Parade & Snowfest

What’s Doing?
Don’t miss St. Petersburg’s annual Santa Parade, which kicks off at Central Avenue and Fifth Street. The route continues east to Bayshore Drive, turning north and ending at 5th Avenue North.

Following the parade, families can enjoy snow activities — including a big and kiddie toboggan slide — when 65 tons of snow will be blown into St. Petersburg’s North Straub Park! There will also be an art tent, moonwalk, a climbing wall, reindeer races, visits with Santa, a giant greeting card display and Kiddyland.

Kiddyland, an area especially for children age 3-5, will offer inflatable games, cookie decorating, and more for the little ones.

Go “Glice” Skating
Families can enjoy St. Pete’s annual “glice” skating — a simulated ice rink, as well as visits with Santa Claus, between 6-9 p.m. on select dates: December 1 & 2, 6 through 9, and 13 through 16 and 20 through 23. Skating is $5/30-minute session. Santa visits are free, and cameras allowed.

Tampa’s 2012 Downtown Holiday Parade & Santa Fest

What’s Doing?
This festive day will kick off when the parade steps off at Morgan Street and Kennedy Boulevard. The floats, marching bands, dance troops and finally, Santa Claus will travel west on Kennedy Boulevard to Ashley Drive, then turn north to end at Ashley Drive and Cass Street.

Following the parade, Curtis Hixon Park will be transformed into a winter wonderland filled with family activities, visits with Santa Claus, holiday entertainment, hands-on games, and holiday crafts.

Tampa’s Downtown on ICE 2012 will be open during the event. Ice skating requires a fee of $10 per person and includes skates and 90 minutes of skate.

What’s Doing?
The Shops at Wiregrass kicks-off this holiday season with the 2012 Première of Symphony In Lights, an amazing holiday light show choreographed to music featuring Trans-Siberian Orchestra. The evening will also include a live performance by the Late Night Brass Band, a 10-piece horn band, strolling carolers, “snow” flurries, and special guest — Santa Claus!

Did you know? The 55′ tree is trimmed top to bottom with over 250,000 lights, 47 miles of wire, 2,000 watts of sound, and 10 tons of holiday decor.
Symphony in Lights will continue nightly at 6 p.m., 7 p.m., 8 p.m., and 9 p.m. through December 31, 2012.
