What’s Doing?
The City of Safety Harbor invites you and your family to come out and celebrate being a Playful City USA! Games2U will be at the event with their game truck, laser tag and human hamster balls. BouncyTimes will have inflatables. But that’s not all! There will also be games, an obstacle course, prizes and more to enjoy.

What’s Doing?
This event is a waterfront art show with music and food. Pets are welcome, so feel free to bring Fido while the family browses art and handcrafts by Florida artists.

So, why do I think this might be an event you’d bring your kids to? In September, the event will have FREE face painting and FREE organic lemon ice fruit drinks for the first 100 shoppers. Plus, Harbor Island is close to Glazer Children’s Museum, which you can enjoy for just $5/person; September 30 will be the last of Glazer’s $5 days in celebration of their 2nd birthday. Maybe the kids can be persuaded to do something you want to do today?

Can’t make it in September? There will be another Harbor Island Art Walk on Sunday, October 28, 2012 featuring a canine costume contest, as well as FREE face painting and FREE organic lemon fruit drinks for the first 100 shoppers.

What’s Doing?
So much! In September 2010, What’s Doing? Tampa Bay blog was born with a mission, a space on the web, and a welcome post. In October 2010, the blog featured its first 5 events. A few days ago I pressed the “publish” button on our 2,000th post!

WDTB has also doubled its monthly readership over the past year, we just topped 600 “Likes” on our Facebook page, and it’s all because of you. Meet the Drivers of the 4th Annual Bright House Clearwater Super Boat National Championships

What’s Doing?
Admission to Baystar Race Village is FREE. Watch the offshore power boat races throughout the day and see the boats and teams up close. Then stay for the Super Boat Parade down Cleveland Street, which will begin at 6:30 p.m. Blast Friday will offer live music featuring the Atlanta Rhythm Section, and The Clearwater Downtown Development Board will host some FREE family fun where you can meet the drivers and get their autographs at Baystar Race Village in Coachman Park, join in contests and games, win prizes and browse vendor booths.

NOTE: Please keep in mind that spectators can enjoy the races for FREE. However, if having the best vantage point for viewing the races is what’s most important to you, you may want to consider purchasing VIP race passes to view the action from strategic locations at the Hilton Clearwater Beach Resort or the Hyatt Regency. A VIP race lanyard also provides admission to special parties, FREE Jolley Trolley rides, FREE admission to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium and Winter’s Dolphin Tale Adventure, and FREE sailboat rides and paddleboard demos at the Clearwater Community Sailing Center. VIP admission will cost $100/adult, $25/child (age 16 and younger).

Even Better! Are you planning on enjoying the races all weekend long? On Saturday, September 29, catch the fireworks. They will probably begin between 8:30-9 p.m. and are FREE for spectators in the area around Pier 60. On Saturday the Baystar Race Village will also include a Seafood Festival, where guests can also enjoy seafood from local restaurants.

2012 Tampa Bay Area CureSearch Walk: Enjoy a Fun Family Day in Support of Children’s Cancer Research

There is no minimum amount that you must raise in order to participate in the walk (beyond the walk fee). However, walkers who raise $100 or more will receive an official CureSearch Walk T-shirt.

Time: Registration opens and pre-walk activities begin at 9 a.m.; The Radio Disney Road Crew will be on-site from 9-11:30 a.m.; Opening Ceremony and Walk: 10 a.m.-12 p.m.

Cost: Walk Fee: $10/adult (Age 16+), FREE/child (Age 15 and younger); Donations support CureSearch for Children’s Cancer; Registration is required! Although there is no walk fee for children, they do need to be registered by their parents online or at the walk.

What’s Doing?
Join Radio Disney AM1380 Road Crew to celebrate and honor children from the Tampa Bay Area who have been affected by cancer. All festivities will take place in South Straub Park with two walk loops around South and North Straub Park. In addition, the day will include music, food and fun activities for the whole family to enjoy.
