What’s Doing?
Ice Cold Air in South Tampa is hosting a Back-to-School Supply Drive. Donate at least $15 in school supplies through tomorrow (July 31) and get a FREE oil change and courtesy check or a gift certificate toward any repair or maintenance.

Ice Cold Air We will be selecting 100 local children from the community and The Spring to receive the donated supplies and a Ice Cold Air backpacks during their back-to-school event, which will take place on Saturday, August 4 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The children will be treated to free food and drinks, face painting, a balloon artist and shaved ice.

What’s Doing?
Join the Tampa Yankees as they play the Palm Beach Cardinals this Saturday, July 28. The evening will begin with a Back-to-School Blast featuring a face painter, balloon artist, and activities for kids beginning at 5 p.m., and end with a fireworks display sponsored by Wells Fargo.

Radio Disney will be on-site as part of their 1st Annual Back-to-School Drive to Benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of America. The Radio Disney Crew will be collecting school supplies and entertaining guests with music, interactive entertainment and prizes.

Even Better! The first 250 kids (ages 14 and under) will receive a FREE backpack filled with Yankees school supplies.

What’s Doing?
Lennar’s Central Florida Division will host a Grand Opening Celebration this Saturday to showcase two new single family model homes at Concord Station in Land O’Lakes in Pasco County. This special event will include refreshments and food, along with games for the kids.

Lennar is building 115 new homes, priced from the low $200s, in the current phase at Concord Station. Preview the new Monte Carlo model home (offering five bedrooms, three baths, a bonus room, and a three car garage), and the new Mayflower model home (offering four bedrooms, three baths, a bonus room, and a two-car garage).

Lennar Tampa’s Facebook page also suggests you “ask about our home within a home.” The Independence model is Lennar’s new NextGen™ Home within a Home, which offers five bedrooms, three-and-a-half baths, and a three-car garage, as well as a complete separate living suite with eat-in kitchenette, living room, bedroom with walk-in closet, private bath and private entrance.

CORRECTION On Pump It Up’s 4th Annual Great Open Jump Post

It has been brought to our attention that although many Pump It Up locations are allowing kids to jump for FREE with a donation to Autism Speaks, not all locations are following this policy. The Brandon, FL location is indicating that the entrance fee will be $10/child, with 50% going to Autism Speaks. If you are planning to attend the 4th Annual Great Open Jump tonight, we strongly suggest that you contact your location BEFORE attending to see what their policy will be regarding the donation to Autism Speaks.

We have also learned that Pump It Up of Westchase will not be open tonight due to a scheduling conflict. They plan to reschedule this event and will post the information on their website. (Thanks, Wende!)

Help Camp Bayou Get Ready for Their Back-to-School/Back-to-Nature Event: Tie-dye Table Covers

What’s Doing?
On Saturday, volunteers will be making tie-dye table covers to be used during the Camp Bayou’s Annual Back-to-School/Back-to-Nature event on August 4. If you are interested in tie-dye, stop in and learn how to make your own. If you bring a clean white t-shirt, you can try making your own creation after the table covers are complete. There is no charge for this activity.

A Little Bit About Camp Bayou
Camp Bayou is neither a campground nor a summer camp. It was an RV park before the County’s ELAP program purchased the land but it is now open for day use only, open to the general public. Through volunteers, donations, membership and grants, offers programs to preregistered schools, youth groups, adult groups and families. Camp Bayou is open from Thursday-Saturday from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. for passive recreational pursuits such as wildlife watching, nature photography and trail walks. General admission is FREE.

Back-to-School Supply Drive
In preparation for the Back-to-School/Back-to-Nature event, Camp Bayou is collecting school supply items such as loose-leaf paper, binders, rulers, lunch boxes, backpacks and other typical school supply items. Also acceptable are pens and pencils with company logos so show your corporate pride and support. All donations will be
acknowledged during Camp Bayou Back-to-School/Back to Nature event, and in social media coverage before and after the event.

“Shiver me timbers! Largo Aquatics invites you to come aboard the pirate ship and hunt for hidden treasure at this year’s Splash’s Treasure Hunt.” This year’s new location — Southwest Pool — is due to construction at the Highland Recreation Complex.
