What’s Doing?
Crossover Church will be giving away 1,000 backpacks and school supplies to school children in the community during their annual Back-to-School event. You can register on Eventbrite to guarantee your child’s backpack. Backpacks will be available for children age 4-18, in pre-K through 12th grade.

NOTE: Follow the registration process and arrive no later than 1 p.m. the day of the event with your child to claim your child’s backpack and school supplies. Each child must be present to receive their backpack, even if they have been registered. One backpack per child. Supplies are limited.

The Henry B. Plant Museum is located near downtown, on The University of Tampa campus. The Museum interprets the turn-of-the-century Tampa Bay Hotel and the lifestyles of America’s Gilded Age. Critical to the success of this mission is the restoration and preservation of this National Historic Landmark, an opulent 1891 railroad resort, and the artifacts significant to its history, and the life and work of Henry Bradley Plant. The Museum is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10 a.m.-5 p.m., and Sundays from 12-5 p.m. (Closed on Mondays, Thanksgiving and Christmas.) Regular admission is $10/adult, $7/student and senior 65+ and students, and $5/child age 4-12.

FREE School Physicals for School-aged Children (K-12) Entering a Florida School for the First Time

What’s the Freebie?
Did you know that any student entering a Florida school for the first time in grades kindergarten through 12th is eligible to receive a FREE school physical? Children must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, and you must have your child’s immunization record to receive FREE immunizations. NOTE: There will be NO sports, Head Start or day care physicals available.

These clinics are hosted by the Back-to-School Coalition of Hillsborough County, which includes Hillsborough County’s Family & Aging Services Department, Hillsborough County Public Schools, the Hillsborough County Health Department, local hospitals, social service organizations, and local health care organizations.

Please be aware that some locations require appointments, while others take walk-ins only. For more information or to schedule an appointment, call (813) 443-3048. Here’s the schedule:
