Get the family together and get moving, stretching and exercising along with Highland Recreation fitness instructors and staff. As Tampa Bay area parents brace for the Republican National Convention to take over our city for a week, increasing commute times and making some of our favorite play areas all but inaccessible, you may find yourself wondering … what’s in it for us? Well, we did manage to find something kids and parents can enjoy during the RNC! Head over to Bilmar Beach Resort in Treasure Island, FL and check out the patriotic sand castle display on the beach.

Using a reported 30 tons of imported sand, giant sand sculptures of President Abraham Lincoln, the Lincoln Memorial and the White House are being created in honor of the Republican National Convention in Tampa. The display is scheduled to be completed Aug. 26 and will remain on display until Sept. 17.
GoGo SqueeZ has literally cleaned up some of Tampa and Clearwater’s dirtiest sidewalks … with popular childhood games! Hopscotch and Dancing Feet games were literally cleaned into the sidewalks — most of them are in or around playgrounds, with a few exceptions — using a high-pressure water sprayer that cleaned away dirt through a stencil, leaving behind an environmentally-friendly game and message in its place. Here’s how they did it:
GoGo squeeZ All-natural Squeezable Applesauce
Available in eight flavors, GoGo squeeZ products come in re-sealable pouches with built-in straws, making them a no-spoon, no-mess way for your kids to enjoy fruit on the go. Keep a few in your purse for when the kids need a quick snack, or put them in school lunches. GoGo squeeZ products are also gluten-free, dairy-free and nut-free and made with no preservatives or artificial colors.
GoGo squeeZ “Clean Games” Scavenger Hunt
“While many Southeastern families are heading back to school, we aim to deliver a fun moment of outdoor activity, and remind people to ‘always play,’ with this campaign,” said Meena Mansharamani, Managing Director of Materne North America. “We’re driven by passion to offer healthy snack options that give people the freedom to play and decided to bring these green games to families across the Southeast to help share our passion.”
The question now is … can you find one before Mother Nature fades them away? To “squeeZ” in some extra fun, GoGo squeeZ is turning their “Clean Games” into an old-fashioned scavenger hunt so you and your family can discover even more fun and win prizes!
Here’s How the GoGo squeeZ “Clean Games” Scavenger Hunt Works:
Anyone who takes a “play photo” at one of these games can win. The first 250 people who share a snapshot of play on a “Clean Game” via Instagram tagged with #passtheplay and addressed to @gogosqueez will receive a 3-month subscription to Speakboos, featuring the book When I Play narrated by Pro-football Player Drew Brees. GoGo squeeZ will also pick 15 Grand Prize winners at random from all of the eligible entries to win a 1-month supply of GoGo squeeZ!
Find A “Clean Game” in Your Town!
Clean Games have been placed in and around South Florida, Orlando, Tampa/Clearwater and Atlanta. Here are a few clues from Promo Moxie, Inc. to help you and your children find one of the 10 sets of games in the Tampa/Clearwater area:
— Most of them are in or around playgrounds, with a few exceptions
— One is “safely near a harbor” playground in Clearwater
— You could “pier” into a clean game at this South Tampa playground
— One might “glaze” by a nearby museum in Downtown Tampa
— Another might “pledge their American allegiance” to a certain playground in Seminole Heights
Important Entry Information:
You can submit your photo entry to @gogosqueez on Instagram OR to community@gogosqueez.com via e-mail. Photos submitted over Instagram must be tagged with #passtheplay and addressed to @gogosqueez to be eligible. E-mail submissions must include a mailing address for prize verification. No purchase is required to enter or win. The contest will end on September 20, 2012 OR when 250 winners are confirmed, whichever comes first. Winners will receive the Speakaboos digital book service prize via Instagram or e-mail. Grand prize winners will receive their prizes via mail.
NOTE: Submitting a photo to this contest gives GoGo squeeZ the rights and permission to use photos for internal/external purposes. The contest is open to US residents age 13 and older.
A big “Thank You” to Vanessa G. at Promo Moxie, Inc. for contacting us about this cool activity and contest!
