What’s Doing?
MarineQuest is the annual Open House event for the Fish and Wildlife Research Institute (FWRI). The 17th Annual MarineQuest will offer a day of fun for the whole family, and an opportunity for all ages to learn about Florida’s fish and wildlife and FWRI’s research.
Hands-on activities will help children learn about the fascinating marine life in our oceans, and kids will be able to touch sharks and rays, horseshoe crabs, sea stars, spiny lobsters, and other marine critters commonly found in Florida’s waters. Additional activities will include:
— “Gyotaku,” or fish printing
— Faces painting
— Marine-themed origami
— Manatee skeleton to put together
— Facility tours
— Presentations for all ages
— Lab displays
— Interactive stations
— Local and national conservation and science organization booths
… and much more!
