What’s Doing?
Last April we were driving down to Little Harbor Marina and happened to notice this little fish camp in passing. We mentioned it to a local fisherman we met there, and he said it is the place locals go to enjoy seafood. It has taken us this long to get down there, but we finally made it! And …?

It was awesome! We all enjoyed it … even our 4-year-old daughter, who told us she wants to go back every week!

They offer fish, shrimp, clams, oysters, soft shell crab, smoked fish and everything in between. You can also choose sides like gits and cheesy grits, or opt for the more typical cole slaw or fries. Then finish it off with a refillable sweet tea. (NOTE TO PARENTS: There is a kids menu if you ask for it, although my daughter and I just shared a basket of fish and fries, and their was plenty for both of us.)

The Fish House has only outdoor seating. There are several picnic benches under an awning in front of the two order windows (there is no table service). More tables with umbrellas can be found along the side of the building, perched over a pair of no-longer-used shuffleboard courts, with a kid-sized plastic picnic table in the middle. Dining al fresco, we were able to enjoy the sunset while watching a large rain cloud silently move in from the opposite direction. It was truly spectacular … like a show to enjoy while you dine. We finished and headed home just before the rains came.

So, if you want to check out where the locals go for seafood, you’ll definitely want to put The Fish House on your to-do list.
