Lettuce Lake Park’s new Park Ranger Nature Educational Programs will provide fun and informative guided activities for children age 9-15 and their parents. Each program features a theme:
— Saturday, July 7 & Sunday, July 8: Let’s Make – Home Made Ice Cream And Eat It
— Saturday, July 21: Let’s Make Home Made Butter and Eat It!
— Saturday, July 28: Venomous Florida Snakes and Water Color Art
— Saturday August 4 & Sunday, August 5: Jelly Fish and Water Color Art
— Sunday, August 12: Raising Chickens In Your Back Yard
— Saturday, August 18 & Sunday, August 19: Planting A Vegetable Garden — Get It Ready Now!
— Saturday, August 25 & Sunday, August 26: Coffee Plants, Roasting Beans and Saving the Birds
— Saturday, September 1, Sunday, September 2 & Monday, September 3: Survival Skills and Camping In Florida
— Sunday, September 9: Survival Skills and Camping In Florida
— Saturday, September 15 & Sunday, September 16: Turtles Of Florida: What You Can Do To Help
— Saturday, September 22 & Sunday, September 23: Florida’s Pine Trees, Logging and Turpentining
— Saturday, September 29 & Sunday, September 30: Indians In Florida

Even Better! There are also FREE Guided Nature Tours at Lettuce Lake Park every Saturday and Sunday from 8:30-9:30 a.m. Park Rangers will lead guided tours through the boardwalk and along the Hillsborough River, pointing out native plants, birds, and maybe even an alligator or two. Guests will also have the opportunity to climb the 3-story observation tower and enjoy the scenery.
