What’s Doing?
Bring the kids and the whole family for a lunch-and-learn event at Dunedin Community Garden and learn how save and re-use rainwater by constructing your own rain barrel using new and re-purposed materials. Valerie Brown, a local sustainability expert, will lead this hands-on workshop, which will take you through the finding the right materials and step-by-step instructions on assembly. This is intended to be a kid-friendly workshop, split into two short segments and only 45 minutes long.
At the end, the rain barrels will be raffled off, and gardeners will give tour a of their spaces and provide helpful gardening tips.
Even Better! According to the Dunedin Community Garden Facebook Page, they will give away a rain barrel at this workshop and provide ice-cold herbal tea.
