If your kids are anything like ours, they love to make crafts. And us Moms love FREE crafts! Well, there are so many opportunities for your kids to make FREE crafts all over town, it will keep you all hoppin’. Just take a look at what’s going on!

What’s Doing?
Every Saturday the Museum offers a drop-in art program where you can let your children explore their creativity. The activity takes place in the Golding-Scher classroom. The art projects are self-guided, and the gallery-related monthly themes offer a different art activity each week.

** Participants enter the classroom from the exterior entrance until the museum is open. **

What’s Doing?
If it’s your child’s first time at a Home Depot Kid’s Workshop, they will receive a FREE orange Home Depot apron to wear each time they attend. Upon completing the project, they will receive an enamel button to add to their apron. (NOTE: Home Depot crafts are unfinished when you complete them at the store, so they will not look like the picture until you add your own paint.)

What’s Doing?
If it’s your child’s first time at a Lowe’s Build and Grow Workshop, they will receive a FREE Lowe’s apron and goggles to wear for each time they attend. Upon completing the project, the child participating will receive a certificate and embroidered patch to add to their apron.

What’s Doing?
Each week, enjoy Friday Night Family Night at IKEA Tampa. For starters, children ages 12 & under eat free from 4-8 p.m. (Dine in only and child must be present. Limit one meal per child per visit. A $2.49 value. No adult purchase necessary.) Kids can choose from one of three combo meals. Plus! Every Friday there will be a hands-on kids activity from 5-7 p.m. for kids age 12 and younger in the 2nd floor restaurant (unless otherwise noted).

Friday, July 1: Participate in a scavenger hunt throughout the IKEA Tampa showroom and enjoy a patriotic, edible treat when complete.
Friday, July 8: Be clever and use your thumb print to make a “buzz” worthy craft.
Friday, July 15: Celebrate Pudding Day with us. Create a tasty one-of-a-kind treat with pudding and decorate it with fun toppings.
Friday, July 22: Bake with us! Use our DUKTIG baking set to make a cookie creation of your very own.
Friday, July 29: Use our PYSSLA craft beads to design and make a special decorative item.

What’s Doing?
Micheal’s is hosting an around-the-world adventure for kids with their Passport to Fun craft series. Each Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday in July, kids will “visit” a new country and make crafts related to that country’s unique heritage. One craft each day is a pin that kids can collect on a hat or bag. Be sure to request a Passport book, in which kids can draw the flags for the countries they have “visited.”

What’s Doing?
This month, enjoy Westfield Family Fun Days in living color. Grab the family and join them for stories, snacks, crafts and more. Little Picassos will have the opportunity to create their own masterpieces to take home and display in your own home gallery.

Thursday, July 7: Kids will enjoy the stories of Art & Max and Vincent Van Gogh: Sunflowers and Swirly Stars. Afterward, kids can paint their own sunflower pot, enjoy healthy snacks, and more.

Thursday, July 21: Kids will continue to learn all about the wonderful world of art. Listen to the beloved classic Uncle Andy’s, as well as Action Jackson to conclude the last of this art series. After the stories, every child will get to create their own masterpiece.

Workshop: Egyptian Bracelet & African Drum (2:30-3:30 p.m.; Bruton Memorial Library) Space is limited to the first 30 who register one hour before event. This workshop is for kids in Grades 3-9.

Leah’s Cartooning (10:30-11:30 a.m.; Seminole Heights Branch Library) Join local teen artist Leah Lopez as she teaches how to draw and color cartoons. Materials will be provided.

One World, Many Artists (2:30-3:30 p.m.; Temple Terrace Public Library) Learn about different types of art and artists, and create a piece of art of your own.

Expressive Artists Let’s Create! (2:30-4 p.m.; SouthShore Regional Library) Expressive Artists 11 years and up will have a creative afternoon with artist Cory Wright. Limit 20. Silly Feltie Magnets for Kids (1-5 p.m.; Bloomingdale Regional Public Library) Have fun creating your own magnetic feltie robot in two hours. No experience needed. For ages 7-12. Registration required at the Ask Me Kiosk or by calling 273-3652.

Manga & Anime Cartooning with Leah, Teen Artist (3-4 p.m.; Bruton Memorial Library) Seating is limited to the first 50 participants to register one hour before the event.

Just for Kids: Sweets and Treats (2-3:30 p.m.; Bloomingdale Regional Public Library) Come in and try many tasty treats that will get your stomach to stop growling this summer! Arrive hungry and be ready to make some easy, fun snacks. This activity is for kids ages 8-12. Seating is limited. Register at the Ask Me Kiosk.
